The sister program to A Man's Place, A Woman's Place is the only 24-hour shelter and transitional housing facility in San Francisco for women with special needs due to mental disabilities, substance abuse and HIV-related issues.
Up to 69 women each night have access to voluntary psychological support services that include health screenings and psychiatric evaluations, medication monitoring, case management, HIV/AIDS workshops, long-term recovery and care services, and referrals to other social service providers in the city. A Woman's Place also accepts victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, transgendered women and the elderly with special medical needs.
